Sampdoria – AC Milan

Sampdoria hosts AC Milan at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in a game from the 10th round of the Serie A. Let’s take a good look at it in the next few paragraphs, shall we?

Sampdoria are having a decent performance in the Serie A so far. At this moment Claudio Ranieri’s team is 11th in the league standings with 11 points won. In 9 matches played Samp won three times, made two draws and suffered four defeats. That’s not anything special, but being in the middle of the table is more than good for this club. At least for now.

Last week Sampdoria made their second draw for the season. La Samp paid a visit to Torino at the Olimpico and it ended with a 2-2 draw. Antonio Candreva and Fabio Quagliarella put the visitors ahead, but Sampdoria conceded an equalising goal which didn’t allow them to take the win. They were close, though.

AC Milan are finally looking as their former self. The Rossoneri are currently leading the Serie A standings with 23 points, being 5 points ahead of the second Inter Milan. Stefano Pioli’s team is still unbeaten in the league, so Pioli really deserves praise for his work with the team.

Last week Milan claimed their 7th win of 9 matches played. The 7 time European champion hosted Fiorentina at the San Siro and celebrated a 2-0 win. The hosts scored both of their goals in the first half when Alessio Romagnoli and Frank Kessie put the ball in the net behind the goalkeeper.

That’s our preview for the Serie A fixture between Sampdoria and AC Milan at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Are the visitors going to continue with their terrific shape so far? Their biggest problem is the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is currently recovering from an injury.
