Spezia – Juventus

Spezia hosts the champion Juventus at the Dino Manuzzi in a match from the 6th round of the Italian Serie A. This is a very good moment for us to preview this game. Let’s get to work.

Spezia are among the newcomers in the Serie A this season and they had a decent start of the 2020/21 campaign. At this moment Spezia are 14th in the standings with 5 points and a record of one win, two draws and two losses. It could always be better, but this is not the worst start they could have in the Calcio.

Last week Spezia made a second consecutive draw in the league. Vincenzo Italiano’s team had two goals advantage against Parma at the Ennio Tardini, but at the end the match ended with a 2-2 draw. Parma scored their equaliser in the 92th minute, so Spezia were really close to the win here.

Juventus are having a slower start of the new season than it was expected. Right now the Bianconeri are 5th in the league standings with 9 points and a record of two wins and three draws. They are still unbeaten, but they lost points in three of their five matches so far. It’s a rocky start of Andrea Pirlo’s career as a manager of the Old Lady.

During the week Juventus suffered a first loss in the Champions League for the season. The Italian giants faced Barcelona at the Allianz Stadium, but suffered a 0-2 defeat against the Catalans. Juve played without their star striker Cristiano Ronaldo who is still quarantined with COVID-19.

That’s our preview for the Serie A game between Spezia and Juventus on Sunday. We have a feeling Juve will get back to their best after two consecutive games without a win. Andrea Pirlo knows how to motivate his boys, so we expect a strong performance by the Old Lady.
